From Durango, CO

From Durango…Head west on US HWY 160 and travel 9 miles to the intersection of US HWY 160 and CO HWY 140 where the Hesperus Post Office is. Turn south on Colorado HWY 140 and drive 6.4 miles to the Blue Lake Ranch black mailbox and driveway, just south of the 17-mile marker. To protect our guests’ privacy, there is no signage for the Ranch, just the mailbox.

From Farmington, NM

From Farmington, NM…. take NM HWY 170 north which turns into CO HWY 140 at the state line. Proceed 16.9 miles further and Blue Lake Ranch driveway and black mailbox is on the left, just before the 17-mile marker.

From Aztec, NM

From Aztec, NM (US HWY 550) …. Take a left on HWY 516 (Aztec BLVD) and go 3 lights to the N. Power Plant Road (HWY 574), go right 14 miles to NM HWY 170 and turn right. Continue 5 miles to CO/NM state line, then an additional 16.9 miles to BLR driveway and mailbox on the west (left) side of road.

Durango/ La Plata County Airport

Durango/La Plata County Regional Airport…. Durango boasts one of the busiest airports in Colorado with non-stop service to Denver, Dallas, and Phoenix year-round, and Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston in the summer. Renting a car is essential to explore Southwest Colorado and renting a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for snow season and off-road driving.

From the Airport

From the Airport…. Take Airport Road to CO HWY 172, go left 5.7 miles to US HWY 160, go left 6.1 miles to County Road 210, (250 ft off a frontage road by Office Depot). Go left on this very scenic road (Lake Nighthorse) 5.4 miles then take a left (west) on County Road 141, drive 7.8 miles to CO HWY 140. Go right (north) 1.3 miles and you’ll see the BLR driveway and mailbox on the left. This is the scenic farm road to and from Durango.
